ProteoY

Transforming the production of complex proteins

ProteoY was founded to address a fundamental limitation in protein production: the lack of fast, reliable eukaryotic expression systems adapted to complex and non-standard proteins.

"We created ProteoY because the proteins we needed for our research simply could not be produced reliably. We knew there had to be a better solution."

MISSION & VISION

MISSION

Enable faster access to functional proteins

Our mission is to enable researchers and innovators to access functional proteins more quickly, with fewer technical barriers and improved reproducibility, so that science can progress at the speed it deserves.

VISION

A world without expression bottlenecks

We envision a future where protein expression is no longer a limitation to scientific discovery and biomedical innovation, where any researcher can produce any protein reliably in just a few days.

SCIENTIFIC ORIGINS

Academic foundation

University of Cambridge

The ProteoY platform was developed from research conducted within the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge, one of the world’s leading centers in cell biology and protein science.

ProteoY technology originates from academic work carried out in Cambridge, where the need for a more reliable protein expression system emerged from real experimental challenges.

This research led to the development of a yeast expression platform based on a self-selection principle, later translated into the ProteoY solution.

University of Cambridge

Experimental challenge identified

During research on cell cycle regulation, existing expression systems repeatedly failed to reliably produce functional protein complexes.

Key innovation

Development of the self-selection principle

A fundamentally new approach using essential gene deletion to ensure plasmid stability without selection pressure.

2007 · 2009

Peer-reviewed publications

Methodology validated and published in Gene (2007) and Methods in Molecular Biology (2009).

ProteoY

Commercial platform

An academic innovation transformed into a robust and accessible protein expression service available to researchers worldwide.

The people behind ProteoY

A complementary duo combining deep academic expertise and industrial execution, the combination required to transform a research platform into a scalable technology.
